What is design build?

The Hampton Roads Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America (HRDBIA) is offering academic scholarships for the purpose of assisting students interested in pursuing a career in engineering, design, construction and related professions. Applications are currently being accepted for the upcoming academic year (2015-2016) and scholarships totaling up to $5,000 may be awarded.

To apply you must be a member, dependent of a member, an employee of a member of the HRDBIA, or be sponsored by such member. You must be a full-time student enrolled in a construction, engineering or design curriculum at an accredited college or university in the fall of 2015 or be currently enrolled in a construction-related course in a vocational school or career development program. All college or university applicants must be entering school during the next academic year to be eligible.

Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant's past academic performance, relationship of course study to the engineering, design and construction industry, extracurricular activities, community involvement, work history, and attitude.

Interested applicants should contact the Hampton Roads Chapter of the DBIA by email: for information or to request an application. Applications must be completed and received by the HRDBIA no later than 5:00 PM, June 30, 2015.

The Hampton Roads Chapter of the DBIA does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, religion, ethnic origin, or gender and is under no obligation to make any scholarship grants. DBIA reserves the right to withdraw this offer, in whole or in part, at its sole and absolute discretion.
